Free Discover Scuba Experience for Military FamiliesLearn Scuba Chicago is proud to host a free Discover Scuba diving event for service members and their families. Whether you've never breathed underwater or you're a certified diver looking to get back in the water, this event is for you.Active duty, Guard, Reserve, and veterans of any branch are welcome — and so is your immediate family. No experience necessary. No cost. Just show up ready to get wet.

Location: Water's Edge Aquatic Center, Bensenville, IL
What to ExpectYou'll spend the morning in a pool environment with our certified instructors learning the fundamentals of scuba diving. Our Discover Scuba program is conducted in accordance with ISO 11121, the international standard for introductory scuba experiences. All scuba equipment is provided — you just need to bring yourself and a swimsuit.Certified divers are also welcome to attend. If it's been a while since you've been underwater, this is a great low-pressure opportunity to knock the rust off.

- *IF you have your own mask, fins, or snorkel, and prefer your own gear, otherwise — we provide everything!
This event is open to current and former members of any branch of the U.S. military and their immediate family members. Participants must be at least 10 years old. If you have a younger child who is interested, give us a call, and we'll talk it through — we can sometimes accommodate children as young as 8 on a case-by-case basis.
RegistrationSpots are limited, and this event will fill up. Registration is required ahead of time, along with some brief medical and liability paperwork — standard for any diving activity. We also need some form of duty status proof.
